  • Diversity in health outcomes: Hayley Thompson, PhD, Mt. Sinai
  • Culture and spirituality: E. Willis Partington, M.Div, LCSW-R, CancerCare



    The 2006 Annual CPEN Meeting was hosted by Siteman Cancer Center, Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis, School of Medicine.

    Gateway to Innovation: The Confluence of Science and Cancer Patient Education
    The 16th Annual CPEN Conference was held October 25-28, 2006, and provided a comprehensive agenda of oncology patient education topics. The dimensions of patient education were explored through plenary presentations, break out sessions and key notes that addressed the essential role of education for patients with cancer. The keynote address on Evidence-Based Practice in Patient Education was presented by noted author, Patricia Potter, RN, PhD, FAAN.
