CPEN Listserv/NCI Listserv

E-mails sent from CMG have the purpose of rapidly conveying information to members and colleagues. These communications may contain information about the organization, its activities and its educational programs, as well as other information relevant to members and colleagues.

We have one member listserv that is managed by CMG's Manager of Membership Services. The e-mail for the listserv is cpen@simplelists.com. The CMG's Manager of Membership Services adds new members to the list as they join CPEN and removes lapsed members yearly. Members must confirm that they want to be on the listserv before they will be able to send and receive messages. A confirmation e-mail goes out to each member added. Any message sent from a verified e-mail address on the listserv sent to the cpen@simplelists.com e-mail address goes to each confirmed member on the listserv. If someone sends from an alternate e-mail address, CMG's Manager of Membership Services checks the database for their membership and confirms the e-mail manually if they are members. She also does this for any message that comes from an outside source (e.g., AACE).

There is also a link to the listserv on the CPEN members-only site that explains the benefit as well. To access that page, you will need to logon and then click on http://www.cancerpatienteducation.org/members/listserv.aspx.

CA-PATIENT-ED is a listserv for cancer patient educators. The listserv is designed to improve information sharing and communication amongst cancer patient educators and the National Cancer Institute. We hope this tool will be used to stimulate new ideas, approaches, and information sharing. It is also our hope that we can identify and further disseminate approaches in patient education that are research tested and effective.
