The Cancer Patient Education Network (CPEN) was originally established in 1989 by the National Cancer Institute's Patient Education Branch. CPEN provides a formal mechanism for the exchange of information among cancer patient educators, thereby improving the management and delivery of patient education services. This exchange of information occurs through networking, mentoring, collaborating, sharing best-practice resources, developing guidelines and standards, and conducting evidence-based research.
CPEN Vision Statement
The Cancer Patient Education Network's vision is to reduce the burden of cancer through education.
CPEN Mission Statement
